Okay, maybe it wasn't the oddest thing ever, but it was odd enough to catch my eye as I was racing to the video store to return a video that was due as I was driving.
I noticed a woman running to catch her bus. She caught up with the bus and she banged on the door for the driver to open it and let her in. Apparently she wasn't at the official bus stop so he refused to open the doors. (In general, I understand why he didn't open the doors, but really, it's night and it's slow time and he should have been a little more flexible.)
Then the strangest thing happened. The fellow driving the car in front of the bus, stopped his car, honked his horn and motioned for the woman to get in. She looked a little puzzled for a split second as if she wasn't sure the guy was waving to her. Then she approached the car (no, she wasn't a prostitute) and spoke to the guy through the window. Then she opened the door and got in.
Okay, so now I have to admit that I was curious what was going to happen next, so I followed the car. Fortunately, I didn't have to follow it too far. About a kilometer and a half down the street, he stopped again and the lady got out. Sometimes it is very good to live in a small city.
